Blaufränkisch

Blaufränkisch – powerful red wines with character

Blaufränkisch is one of the most exciting red grape varieties in Central Europe. The wines impress with a lively acidity that gives them freshness and tension, and a body that, depending on origin and aging, can range from elegantly fruity to profound and spicy. Dark berry fruit, a subtle note of pepper, and a pleasant tannin structure make Blaufränkisch a red wine that can be enjoyed both uncomplicatingly and discussed seriously.

Where Blaufränkisch is at home

The variety is primarily rooted in Austria, where it finds its most famous expressions in Burgenland. In Germany too – for example in Rheinhessen – committed winemakers work with this grape variety. In the Vinoscout range, you will find wines from wineries such as Tement and St. Antony, which show how versatilely Blaufränkisch can be interpreted.
