Pinot Gris
Pinot Gris is the fuller-bodied cousin of Pinot Blanc – and a true temptation for those who prefer a richer flavor. Depending on the region and winemaking style, it reveals aromas of ripe pears and apples, sometimes with a hint of honey or delicate nuts. What makes it so special is its remarkable versatility : from fresh and light-footed to opulent and complex.
It originated in Burgundy, but today it feels most at home in Alsace , in Germany – where it is known as Grauburgunder – and in Italy as Pinot Grigio. At Vinoscout you will find 12 carefully selected wines of this grape variety, from everyday discoveries starting at €8.40 to characterful bottles for special occasions up to €47.90.

Pinot Gris – between freshness and fullness
Pinot Gris is one of the great characters among white wines. Depending on its origin and vinification, the grape delivers surprisingly different wines: sometimes lean and fresh with lively fruit, sometimes full-bodied, spicy, and of considerable depth. That is exactly what makes it so exciting – and so versatile at the table.
Focus on Alsace and Luxembourg
Pinot Gris has its most famous home in Alsace. There, on the great Grands Crus vineyards, the variety develops a special complexity: ripe fruit, a subtle spice, and a body that can stand up to rich dishes. With wines from Hugel & Fils and Wolfberger – including bottlings from the Pfingstberg and Hengst Grands Crus – this tradition is well represented at Vinoscout. Luxembourg also shows with Château de Schengen and Domaine Bernard Massard that Pinot Gris can develop an elegant, independent signature on the Moselle.
