Petit Manseng
Petit Manseng is a true gem for those seeking wines with character and depth. The grapes ripen on the vine for an exceptionally long time, almost until they are snatched away by thrushes – hence the name Dernières Grives (Last Thrushes). The result is a wonderfully complex wine: powerful and rounded on the palate, paired with a delicate sweetness and vibrant notes of white truffle and vanilla. It caresses your palate with every sip and boasts remarkable balance. Ideal for moments when you want to treat yourself to something special, perhaps as an accompaniment to a fine cheese platter or as the perfect ending to a delicious meal.Filters

Petit Manseng – aromatic white wines from the southwest of France
In the Vinoscout range, you will currently find a Petit Manseng, from 18.95 euros – including the Dernières Grives from Domaine Tariquet. A small but characterful selection for all those looking beyond the major grape varieties.
Origin & character
Petit Manseng originally comes from Béarn in the French southwest, where it has been grown for centuries in appellations like Jurançon. It is represented here in the range with a wine from the Loire Valley, where the variety is also at home. The berry is thick-skinned and ripens late – this makes it resistant to rot and favors a natural concentration of sugar and acidity. In the glass, Petit Manseng shows tropical aromas: ripe mango, passion fruit, and pineapple, underscored by quince and a hint of ginger. The lively acidity balances the weight of the fruit – whether dry or sweet, the wine never seems heavy.
Pairs well with
- Foie gras and rich pâtés
- Blue cheese like Roquefort
- Fruity desserts with citrus or stone fruit
- Spicy Asian dishes with coconut milk
