Petit Manseng Alto Adige DOC 0.75L

Petit Manseng in South Tyrol — that is not a matter of course. Franz Haas, one of the most famous wineries in Alto Adige, grows the grape variety originally from Jurançon on alluvial soils in hillside locations between 220 and 320 meters. The small, loose-berried grapes with their thick skins naturally bring concentration and aromatic intensity — a property that Franz Haas uses specifically.

In the glass, the Petit Manseng shows a luminous straw yellow. On the nose, it opens with aromas of ripe quince, apricot, and a hint of exotic fruit — mango, pineapple — underscored by floral notes and a fine spice. On the palate, despite the aromatic fullness, it is vinified dry: fresh acidity keeps the fruit in balance, the finish is long and slightly salty.

Dishes with a certain spice or sweetness-acidity tension go well with it: pan-seared scallops with passion fruit butter, sushi and sashimi, or an aged goat cheese. Served at 10–12 °C, it shows its full aromatic potential.
