How much wine do you need for your party?

Count on two glasses per guest in the first hour and one glass for every further hour. A 0.75-litre bottle pours five glasses of wine or seven glasses of sparkling wine. For 30 guests and four hours that makes 30 bottles. The party planner works this out for your party and puts the wines together for you.

Four questions, one minute. Then your selection is ready.

How it works

  1. Guests and duration: tell us how many guests are coming and how long you're celebrating.

  2. Kind of party: reception, dinner, garden party or big celebration. The planner then splits the bottles into sparkling, white, rosé and red.

  3. Price per bottle: pick your price range. We only suggest wines we have in stock in that quantity.

  4. Check and order: swap what you don't like, add alcohol-free bottles and put everything into your cart in one click.

Good to know

Rule of thumb: how much wine per guest?

The table shows roughly how many 0.75-litre bottles of wine you need if every guest drinks wine. With sparkling wine for the toast you need slightly fewer bottles, because a bottle of sparkling pours seven glasses instead of five.

How many bottles of sparkling wine for a reception?

For a sparkling reception, count on one to two glasses per guest. A bottle of sparkling wine, Prosecco or Crémant pours seven 0.1-litre glasses. For 40 people you need six to twelve bottles.

How much Prosecco for a bottle of Aperol?

For an Aperol Spritz following the 3-2-1 rule (three parts Prosecco, two parts Aperol, one part soda), a 0.7-litre bottle of Aperol needs about 1.05 litres of Prosecco. That is just under one and a half bottles of Prosecco for around 17 glasses. For a 1-litre bottle of Aperol, take two bottles of Prosecco.

Matching wines

Which wines suit which party?

For a reception, dry Prosecco, sparkling wine or Crémant work well. For a garden party or barbecue, light, chilled whites and rosés. For a dinner with guests, a red most people like, such as a fruity Primitivo. For big groups, value packs and magnums are worth it.
