Domaine Tariquet Dernières Grives

Domaine Tariquet Dernières Grives is one of Gascony's most exceptional sweet wines – a refined Vin doux made from 100% Petit Manseng , produced only in very small quantities and exclusively in the best vintages. The name tells its own story: the grapes are harvested late in autumn, when the last thrushes ("grives") make a final stop on their migration route from Northern Europe to Africa – and appreciate the overripe, sugar-rich berries just as much as the winemakers do.

In the glass, the wine shines a rich golden yellow and entices with an opulent, multi-layered bouquet of white truffles, candied fruit, dried apricot, pineapple, and delicate spice notes . On the palate, it unfolds a rich, yet never heavy, sweetness that harmonizes beautifully with a lively, fresh acidity. This perfect balance of richness and freshness is the hallmark of this wine. After fermentation, it matures for over a year in oak barrels before spending a few more months in stainless steel tanks.

Dernières Grives is a wonderful accompaniment to foie gras, Roquefort, Gorgonzola, Tarte Tatin, chocolate desserts, or fresh figs . Served at around 8–10 °C , it reveals its most elegant side and develops even more complexity and truffle aromas with 5–10 years of bottle aging. A rare specialty with great character and long aging potential.

Domaine Tariquet

Domaine Tariquet – a French winery in the southwest, between Toulouse and the Landes de Gascogne Regional Natural Park. Founded in 1912 by Hélène and Pierre Grassa, it is now run by the fifth generation. Over 1,100 hectares of vineyards, a variable climate with cool nights, and fertile soils – ideal conditions for aromatic wines. What makes Tariquet special? The courage to combine grape varieties previously considered incompatible – Chardonnay with Sauvignon Blanc, for example. Syrah, Merlot, Tannat – over 10 million bottles full of character are produced here every year.
