Domaine Tariquet Classic Blanc

Domaine Tariquet Classic Blanc is the estate's flagship wine and has been a Gascon institution since the 1982 vintage. The Grassa family pioneered the bottling of Ugni Blanc – originally cultivated for Armagnac production – as a dry white wine. Today, the Classic is a blend of six grape varieties : Gros Manseng, Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Chenin Blanc – a unique combination for Gascony that lends the wine exceptional complexity and depth.

In the glass, it shines a bright, pale straw yellow with green reflections. On the nose, it unfolds a fresh, complex bouquet of apple, grapefruit, quince, white blossoms, and a hint of gooseberry and exotic fruit , complemented by a delicate herbal spiciness and light minerality. On the palate, the Classic is dry, crisp, fresh, and light-bodied, with pleasant acidity, a lovely drinkability, and a charming, fruity finish. At only around 10.5% alcohol, it feels particularly light and invigorating.

Served at 8–12 °C , the Classic Blanc is the perfect everyday companion to appetizers, fresh salads, light fish, seafood or poultry – or simply as an uncomplicated aperitif. A timeless Gascony white wine offering great drinking pleasure and an unmistakable character.

Domaine Tariquet

Domaine Tariquet – a French winery in the southwest, between Toulouse and the Landes de Gascogne Regional Natural Park. Founded in 1912 by Hélène and Pierre Grassa, it is now run by the fifth generation. Over 1,100 hectares of vineyards, a variable climate with cool nights, and fertile soils – ideal conditions for aromatic wines. What makes Tariquet special? The courage to combine grape varieties previously considered incompatible – Chardonnay with Sauvignon Blanc, for example. Syrah, Merlot, Tannat – over 10 million bottles full of character are produced here every year.
