Sud Ouest – Wines from the Southwest of France
The Southwest of France is one of the country's most diverse wine regions – and at the same time, one of the most underrated. Here, wines are created away from the mainstream, with their own character and often from grape varieties you will hardly find anywhere else. Malbec, Tannat, Négrette on the red side, plus autochthonous white grape varieties from the Armagnac region or the Béarn – the Southwest plays by its own rules.
Powerful, independent, honest
Red wines from the Sud Ouest are often deep in color, rich in tannins, and sometimes need a little time – or a good piece of meat to go with them. The white wines surprise with fresh fruit and a dry, straightforward style. Rosés from the region are lively and uncomplicated. In short: these wines do not do things by halves.
