The Dauré family has run the winery since 1973. Their trademark is the fusion of modern art with winemaking. Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan grapes grow on 100 hectares of diverse soils.

Château de Jau is located in the heart of Roussillon, nestled in a Mediterranean landscape that attracted Cistercian monks as early as the 12th century. Since 1973, the Dauré family has managed the estate – and has given it an unmistakable signature: wine and contemporary art go hand in hand here, from the labels to the exhibitions on the estate itself.
On 100 hectares, Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan grow on a mosaic of slate, gneiss, and limestone. The grape varieties have been rooted in this region for centuries and provide wines with Mediterranean warmth, dark fruit, and a structure that is as suitable for long aging as it is for uncomplicated drinking in the evening.
Those who visit the Château will find a grill restaurant where lamb and sausages are cooked over vine wood – accompanied by bread, tomato, and oil. This directness is also found in the wines: no over-processing, no hiding of the terroir, but South of French lifestyle in the glass.
