Arneis
Arneis is a white grape variety from Piedmont that truly lives up to its name – in Piedmontese it means something like "little difficult one," because the vine is demanding to cultivate and requires a lot of care. In the glass, it rewards you with an aromatic, elegant white wine : fruity with notes of pear and peach, a delicate hint of almonds and white blossoms, and a pleasant, not overly pronounced acidity.
Arneis is primarily grown in the Langhe and Roero regions , the hilly vineyards north and south of the Tanaro River. After nearly disappearing in the 1970s, the variety is now experiencing a remarkable renaissance. At Vinoscout, you'll find eight carefully selected Arneis wines priced between €10.95 and €33.61 – from accessible entry-level wines to characterful top-tier wines.

Arneis – the white character of Piedmont
Arneis is one of the most interesting white grape varieties in Italy – and for a long time, it was almost forgotten. Today, it is experiencing a well-deserved renaissance. The wines are generally dry, medium-bodied, and aromatically restrained-elegant: fruity freshness, a subtle almond note, sometimes a bit of blossom in the background. On the palate, they appear soft, with a pleasant texture and moderate acidity – not a loud, not an intrusive wine, but one that convinces with finesse.
Home: Piedmont, between Langhe and Roero
Arneis grows exclusively in Piedmont, especially in the hills of Roero – the left bank of the Tanaro – as well as in the Langhe. You will find both designations of origin in our range: Roero Arneis DOCG and Langhe Arneis DOC. The DOCG classification of Roero stands for particularly strict quality requirements.
