Roero Arneis DOCG Piedmont

An Arneis from the Roero that presents itself with freshness and fine minerality. Straw-yellow in the glass with greenish reflections, clear and floral in the nose.

Bruno Giacosa, one of the most famous names in Piedmont, sources the grapes from selected vineyards in Vezza d'Alba, Monteu Roero, Santo Stefano Roero, Canale, and Montà d'Alba. The vines are 23 to 34 years old and yield 70 hl/ha. Harvested by hand at the end of September. Fermentation takes place for 25 days in stainless steel tanks; there is no malolactic fermentation. The wine then matures for four months in stainless steel and one month in the bottle.

On the nose, acacia blossoms, peach, and lemon. Fresh and floral on the palate, with 5.00 g/l total acidity and 13.5% vol. The minerality gives the wine length and structure. Serve it at 8 to 10 °C as an aperitif, with vitello tonnato, antipasti with grilled vegetables, or with fish and seafood.
