Langhe – the heart of Piedmont in the glass
The Langhe is that hilly landscape in Piedmont from which some of Italy's most famous wines originate. The DOC designation Langhe functions as a kind of playground for the large wineries of the region: here, wines are created from classic Piedmontese varieties like Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Arneis, but international grape varieties like Chardonnay also find their place – often vinified by producers who make their Barolo and Barbaresco next door.
Versatile and accessible
A Langhe Nebbiolo shows the typical character of this variety – structure, depth, a certain tannin presence – in a more accessible framework than a great Barolo.
