Collio

Collio – elegant white wines from Friuli

The Collio is located in the far northeast of Italy, right on the Slovenian border. The gentle hills with their loamy-sandy soils are considered one of the best white wine sites in Italy – and rightly so. The wines from this small DOC zone impress with finesse, freshness, and a clear varietal typicity that is rarely found with such consistency.

White dominates – with substance

Collio is primarily white wine country. Friulano, Pinot Bianco, and Pinot Grigio show a depth and texture here that goes far beyond light everyday wines: dry, mineral, with real drinkability and the ability to age in the cellar for a few years. In addition, remarkable red wines are also produced in the Collio – above all from Merlot, which finds an elegant, not-too-heavy expression in this climate.

Renowned producers at Vinoscout

In the Vinoscout range, you will find over 10 Collio wines, including bottles from Russiz Superiore and Marco Felluga – two names that stand for consistent quality in Friuli. Whether you want to start with a varietal Pinot Grigio or dive deeper into the world of Collio with the Riserva degli Orzoni: there is something here for every requirement.

If precision, origin character, and artisanal care are important to you in white wine, the Collio is one of Italy's most exciting addresses – and a look at our range is well worth it.
