Villa Canlungo Pinot Grigio Collio DOC

Pinot Grigio from Collio – that's a different league than most of the bottles you find in the supermarket. This hilly region in Friuli, right on the Slovenian border, with its alternating climate of alpine coolness and Adriatic warmth, provides the foundation for white wines with real texture.

Collavini has been cultivating Villa Canlungo for decades as the flagship product of its Collio line. The Collavini family is among the most trusted names in Friuli – with a clear focus on varietally typical, precise white wines from the region's classic DOC vineyards.

In the glass, the Villa Canlungo displays a characteristic aroma profile: hay, fresh walnut, and a hint of roasted almond – typical of Pinot Grigio from cooler Collio vineyards, where the grape variety unfolds its nutty and spicy side instead of remaining neutral and pale. On the palate, it is juicy, with good substance and a fresh, dry finish.

The Italian winery Collavini is located in Corno di Rosazzo, in the northeast of Italy. The company's history began in 1896 in Rivignano when it was founded by Eugenio Collavini. Since 1966, however, Collavini has been based in Corno di Rosazzo, where it is managed by Manlio Collavini. The family business cultivates a variety of grapes on a total of 170 hectares of vineyards. These include Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, and Tocai Friulano.
