Amani Friulano Collio DOC

Amani Friulano Collio DOC
Friulano is the leading grape variety of Friuli – and in the Collio, it shows why. Marco Felluga's Amani Friulano Collio DOC clearly brings the typical character of this indigenous variety to the point: floral, full-bodied, with an unmistakable bitter almond finish.
Marco Felluga is one of the defining wineries of the Collio, that hilly zone in northeastern Friuli on the border with Slovenia. The flysch soils of weathered limestone and sandstone give the white wines here their characteristic texture and mineral spice.
In the glass, the Amani opens with aromas of almond blossom, chamomile, and hawthorn – restrainedly floral, never perfumed. On the palate, it shows itself round and velvety with a well-integrated freshness that carries the body without dominating it. The finish brings the varietal-typical bitter almond note that distinguishes Friulano from Pinot Grigio.

Marco Felluga is an Italian winery located in the town of Gradisca d'Isonzo, founded in 1956 by Marco Felluga. The current managing director is his son, Roberto Felluga, a fifth-generation winemaker in the family. Marco Felluga now manages over 100 hectares of vineyards, consisting of sandstone, clay, and marl soils. Thanks to the protection afforded by the Alps, the region enjoys a climate characterized by warm days and cool nights in spring and very mild summers. Each vineyard also possesses its own microclimate, providing ideal conditions for cultivating various grape varieties. These include Pinot Bianco, Moscato Rosa, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, and Ribolla Gialla.
