Sauvignon Sandis Friuli DOC

Sauvignon Sandis Friuli DOC
A Friuli Sauvignon with a clear signature: spicy, structured, with the aromatic profile one expects from cool sites in the Collio or Isonzo – not a tropical fruit bomb, but herbal work.
Marco Felluga is one of the defining names of Friuli. The winery was founded in 1956 and today manages around 100 hectares in the Collio DOC. The family stands for single-varietal white wines with a mineral backbone – typical for the Pontina soils of sandy limestone and marl (locally called Ponca), which give the Sauvignon its characteristic spice.
In the glass, golden yellow with a green reflection. On the nose, sage, white pepper, and elderflower – the classic herbal profile of a cool Sauvignon. On the palate, medium body, lively acidity without sharpness, pleasantly long, slightly mineral finish.
Best served between 8 and 10 °C. Pairs well with:
- Grilled sea bass or monkfish with herbs
- Ricotta ravioli with sage butter
- Goat cheese or young Pecorino

Marco Felluga is an Italian winery located in the town of Gradisca d'Isonzo, founded in 1956 by Marco Felluga. The current managing director is his son, Roberto Felluga, a fifth-generation winemaker in the family. Marco Felluga now manages over 100 hectares of vineyards, consisting of sandstone, clay, and marl soils. Thanks to the protection afforded by the Alps, the region enjoys a climate characterized by warm days and cool nights in spring and very mild summers. Each vineyard also possesses its own microclimate, providing ideal conditions for cultivating various grape varieties. These include Pinot Bianco, Moscato Rosa, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, and Ribolla Gialla.
