Friulano Collio DOC

Friulano Collio DOC
The Friulano from Russiz Superiore shows what the Collio region is capable of: a grape variety that nowhere else appears as clear and full of character as on the ponca hills between Friuli and Slovenia.
Russiz Superiore is one of the traditional wineries of the Collio DOC. The vineyards on the typical flysch rock – locally called ponca , a mixture of sandstone and marl – give the wines a mineral tension that remains clearly perceptible in the glass.
On the nose, the wine opens with almond blossom, broom, and chamomile—a floral profile typical of Friulano. This is complemented by a spicy hint of green pepper, which adds depth to the bouquet. On the palate, it displays a silky texture alongside fresh fruit, the structure supporting the wine without being overpowering. The finish is long and lingers with a spicy note until the very end.
Serving suggestion: Well chilled at 10–12 °C. Pairs well with seafood risotto, grilled sea bass, burrata with tomato, or prosciutto di San Daniele. Drinking window: now until 2027.
