Dolcetto is one of Italy's most charming everyday wines. Despite its name – "the sweet one" – it is vinified dry, but is naturally soft and round in the mouth. What distinguishes it: a lively fruit, a pleasantly velvety texture, and a characteristic, slightly bitter finish that is typical of the variety and makes the wine so unmistakable.

Origin and character

Dolcetto is firmly rooted in Piedmont, where it is grown primarily in the vineyards around Alba and Asti. While Barolo and Barbaresco dominate the big stages of Piedmont, Dolcetto is the wine that the winemakers there like to drink themselves with food – uncomplicated, direct, and honest. It goes excellently with hearty cuisine, pasta, antipasti, or a good piece of cheese.
