Grenache Gris at Vinoscout

Grenache Gris

Grenache Gris is a rare mutation of the Grenache family, unmistakable with its grey-pink skin. It originates primarily in the Roussillon region of southern France, where it ripens on barren, stony soils, producing white wines of remarkable depth. In the glass, it displays ripe stone fruits such as peach and apricot, along with white blossoms and a hint of Mediterranean spice. What makes it special is the combination of a full-bodied texture and vibrant freshness – rare, but impressive.

Outside of Roussillon, Grenache Gris is only found sporadically, for example in Catalonia or Sardinia. At Vinoscout you'll find 7 carefully selected wines of this rare variety, covering a considerable price range from around 7 to 400 euros – from accessible entry-level wines to ambitious rarities for explorers who want to drink off the beaten track.
