Tinta Amarela
Welcome to our Tinta Amarela collection. Here, everything revolves around Portuguese wine culture, which combines depth and character. A highlight is the Taylor's 10 Years Old Tawny DOC. This port wine impresses with its dark amber color and a wonderful aroma of plums, honey, and winter spices like cinnamon and cloves. On the palate, it is wonderfully rich, nutty, and long-lasting. Ideal for a relaxing evening when you want to take time for a special moment. It pairs perfectly with nutty desserts or can simply be enjoyed on its own.Filters

Tinta Amarela – one of the quiet forces of the Douro Valley
Tinta Amarela is one of the classic grape varieties of the Douro Valley and can currently be found in the Vinoscout range in a port wine starting at 32.95 euros.
Origin & Character
The variety is firmly rooted in the Portuguese Douro, where it has been grown for centuries as a component of traditional port wine blends. Its berries ripen early and produce wines with deep color, lively acidity, and a distinct fruit structure – qualities that make them particularly valuable in blends. In the Tawny style, as shown by Taylor's 10 Years Old Tawny DOC, the original berry fruit recedes after years of oxidative barrel aging, making room for aromas of dried figs, walnut, and a hint of caramel. The characteristic amber tint is created by controlled contact with oxygen over many years in small wooden barrels.
Pairs well with
- Aged hard cheese such as Manchego or Pecorino stagionato
- Dark chocolate with a high cocoa content
- Walnut or almond tart
- Crème brûlée and caramelized desserts
