Touriga Franca
Touriga Franca is the heart of many Portuguese wines, providing a wonderful structure. Our 1980 Messias Colheita Port demonstrates the depth of this grape variety. With aromas of caramel, nuts, and a hint of vanilla, it's the perfect companion for a relaxing evening. Long aging in oak barrels gives it a silky texture and soft tannins. It's wonderfully uncomplicated: once opened, it will keep for weeks if refrigerated. A taste of Portuguese serenity for your glass.Filters

Touriga Franca – powerful red wine from Portugal
Touriga Franca is one of the most important red grape varieties in Portugal and is currently represented by one wine in the Vinoscout range. The entry price starts at 74.37 euros – an indication of the level at which this variety is represented here.
Origin & Character
Touriga Franca originates from Portugal and is primarily at home in the Douro Valley, where it is considered the most widely planted red grape variety. It produces deeply colored, tannin-rich wines with an aromatic density that oscillates between dark berries, violets, and spicy herbal notes. Compared to the related Touriga Nacional, it is more accessible and somewhat more fruit-forward without losing structure. Well-aged examples develop notes of leather, tobacco, and dried plums. The variety is suitable both as a main component of a cuvée and as a soloist – as with the Conceito Unico Red, which shows the variety in its concentrated form.
Pairs well with
- Braised lamb or beef stew
- Grilled chorizo and Iberian charcuterie
- Mature sheep's cheese such as Queijo da Serra
- Game dishes with rich sauces
