Quinta de Ervamoira Douro Denominação de Origem Controlada 0.75L
A Douro red wine that makes the rugged slate terroir of the upper Douro Valley immediately palpable: concentrated, structured, with the characteristic depth of the region.
Ramos Pinto has been cultivating the Quinta de Ervamoira since 1974 in the remote Côa Valley, about 200 kilometers east of Porto. The Quinta is considered one of the most significant single sites in the Douro Superior — an area with extreme temperatures, barren slate soils, and very low yields. Touriga Franca, the main grape variety of this wine, is at home in the Douro and provides aromatic density paired with natural freshness here.
In the glass, the wine shows deep ruby red. On the nose, dark blackberry, plum, and a hint of dried violets, underlined by a subtle spice of black pepper and lavender. On the palate, medium to full body, firm but ripe tannins, lively acidity, and a long, mineral-colored finish with a slate note.
Pairs with braised lamb with rosemary, duck breast with dark sauce, or ripe Manchego. Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Decanting recommended — at least 30 minutes before pouring.

The Ramos Pinto winery dates back to 1880, when Adriano Ramos Pinto laid the foundation for the wine production that bears his name. The estate developed rapidly and achieved worldwide renown – not least thanks to its membership in the Roederer Group. After business flourished in its home country of Portugal, exports to the Brazilian market began. Today, Frédéric Rouzaud manages the winery, continuing the tradition of five successful generations.
