Tawny 10 Years Old Port Quinta de Ervamoira 0.75L
A classic Tawny with the characteristic chestnut brown that comes from long oxidative aging in small wooden barrels — the glass reveals what ten years in the Douro Valley can do to a Port wine.
Ramos Pinto is one of the most traditional houses in the Douro Valley. The Quinta de Ervamoira is located in the eastern Douro Superior, one of the hottest and driest sites in the entire wine region. Old Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz vines grow there on granite weathering soils — the foundation for Port wines with depth and structure.
On the nose, caramel, roasted walnuts and a hint of coffee, plus a light spice that is typical for aged Tawnies. On the palate, delicately balanced sweetness that does not feel heavy, but remains in balance due to lively acidity. The finish is finely spiced and long.
Best served at 16 °C — cooler than many expect, but this is how the aromas come into their own most clearly. Classic companions: walnuts, dried figs and apricots, Roquefort or dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa content. It also makes a good impression as a digestif after a long dinner.

The Ramos Pinto winery dates back to 1880, when Adriano Ramos Pinto laid the foundation for the wine production that bears his name. The estate developed rapidly and achieved worldwide renown – not least thanks to its membership in the Roederer Group. After business flourished in its home country of Portugal, exports to the Brazilian market began. Today, Frédéric Rouzaud manages the winery, continuing the tradition of five successful generations.
