Grenache Gris La Lauze du Moulin Sél. parcellaire IGP Pays d'Oc

Grenache Gris is a rarity in the Languedoc, and this parcel wine shows what is in the grape variety: scent of tangerine, orange blossom, and hazelnut; on the palate citrus-driven, dry, and long.

Les Jamelles (Badet Clément) bottles it from the northwest of the Corbières, at the foot of the Alaric mountains. Stony clay-limestone soils and a not-quite-southern exposure give the wine aromatic precision and length. The grapes are harvested by hand in small crates, and the whole berries go into the pneumatic press without crushing. The must settles cold, fermentation takes place at 14 to 15 °C in the tank and ends in barrels of 500 to 650 liters. Malolactic fermentation is avoided, and the wine subsequently matures on the fine lees until bottling.

In the glass, it appears pale gold-green. The citrus note carries through to the finish, and the hazelnut provides depth. Recommendation: grilled sea bass, scallops, or a young goat cheese. Serve it at 10 to 12 °C, not too cold, so that the aromas can unfold.
