Elio Grasso Dolcetto d'Alba dei Grassi

Period and type of harvest: From mid-September; the grapes are harvested by hand. The production of the Dolcetto d'Alba Dei Grassi provides for a 5-6 day fermentation in steel tanks at a controlled temperature with daily pumping over of the pomace cap with fermenting wine. After the fermentation process is complete, the wine remains in steel containers and is bottled in the months of April-May. It is recommended to drink the wine after 4-5 years, as it retains its typical aroma and freshness until then.

The grapes grow on loamy soils with an average lime content.

The Winery

Elio Grasso

Elio Grasso is an Italian winery from the Piedmont region. The Grasso family has always been associated with viticulture in this region, but they only actively dedicated themselves to wine production again in 1980. The winery is managed by Elio Grasso. It is located in the northwest of Italy, about an hour's drive from the city of Turin.

In addition to the vineyards, Elio Grasso has owned a modern wine cellar since 2007, which is 100m long and equipped with French and Slavonian oak barrels.

The total vineyard area of the winery is 18 hectares. For the production of the wines, grape varieties such as Dolcetto, Barbera, or Nebbiolo are used. Approximately 90,000 bottles of wine are produced annually at the Elio Grasso winery.
