Vajra Langhe DOC Dragon

A white wine from Piedmont that combines tradition and experimentation: The Vajra Langhe DOC Dragon focuses on the rare indigenous grape variety Nascetta – long almost forgotten, today one of the most exciting white wines of the Langhe.

The G.D. Vajra winery in Barolo-Castiglione Falletto is one of the renowned family businesses in Piedmont. Built up by Aldo Vajra since the 1970s, it is now managed by the second generation. With the acquisition of the Luigi Baudana winery – a small beacon of an estate in Serralunga d'Alba – the family also brought Baudana's passion for Nascetta into the house. The Dragon is the result of this connection.

In the glass, the wine shows aromas of bergamot, white peach, and herbs – sage and a hint of fennel. The acidity is present without being sharp, the body is medium-weight with a slightly mineral, dry-bitter finish. Typical for Nascetta: a subtle spiciness that clearly distinguishes the wine from pleasant white wines.

Serving suggestion: Good with appetizers with anchovies or caponata, with risotto with herbs, grilled sea bass, or semi-firm cheese like Castelmagno. Serving temperature 10–12 °C.

Vajra

GD Vajra from Piedmont makes wines that don't need to be loud – and that's precisely what makes them special. It all began with a childhood dream: Aldo Vaira spent his weekends in Barolo, far from the city, and fell in love with the land. A passion that changed his life. Today, the Vaira family runs the winery together – parents, children, a true unit. They have been farming organically since 1972. Not as a trend, but because they love and understand their land: it takes time, dedication, and respect. You can taste that in every glass – whether in the elegant Barolo or the fresh Dolcetto. Vajra stands for wines with depth and character that don't overwhelm you, but touch you.
