Wolfberger Pinot Gris Grand Cru Pfingstberg

Wolfberger Pinot Gris Grand Cru Pfingstberg
From the Grand Cru Pfingstberg in Orschwihr – one of the noblest sites in Alsace – comes this Pinot Gris from the Wolfberger cooperative, which has united Alsatian winemakers since 1902 and is today one of the defining houses of the region.
In the glass, aromas of gingerbread, candied quince, and ripe mirabelle plums unfold, underpinned by a fine hint of cinnamon and some ginger. On the palate, the Pfingstberg-typical body shows: full-bodied, with a velvety texture that keeps fullness and freshness in balance. The finish is long and silky – a sign of the potential of this site made of calcareous loess soil with a volcanic subsoil. The MundusVini Gold Medal 2022 for the 2018 vintage confirms the quality of this cuvée.
Drinking recommendation: Served well at 10–12 °C. Pairs with foie gras, Munster with caraway, a hearty Alsatian tarte flambée, or braised pork belly with apples.

Wolfberger is the leading wine brand of Alsace – founded in 1902 in Eguisheim, known under this name since 1976, and still a benchmark for Alsatian quality. Around 450 contracted winegrowers cultivate 1,200 hectares of vineyards stretching almost 100 kilometers from north to south, encompassing 15 Grand Cru vineyards and approximately 13,000 parcels. As the largest Crémant producer in Alsace, Wolfberger produces roughly half of the region's sparkling wines – using the traditional method of extended lees contact. Organic certification for more than 15 years and several ISO awards attest to its serious commitment to quality and sustainability.
