Hammel & Cie A Day at the Seaside Sauvignon Blanc

Hammel & Cie A Day at the Seaside Sauvignon Blanc
Sauvignon Blanc from the Palatinate — vinified with an unusual division: one half matures on the fine lees in stainless steel tanks, the other in wooden barrels. The result is a white wine that combines fresh fruit aromas with noticeable structure, without tipping in either direction.
Hammel & Cie winery is one of the oldest family-run wineries in the Palatinate region and has been committed to traditional winemaking methods for generations. Their "Ein Tag am Meer" (A Day at the Sea) is part of a line that combines approachable everyday enjoyment with stylistic ambition.
On the nose, the glass opens with aromas of kiwi and passion fruit, followed by grapefruit and a hint of rhubarb. On the palate, a mineral note comes to the fore, supporting the ripe fruit profile and lengthening the finish. The texture is dense but never heavy—the oak adds body without imposing any roasted notes.
