The Hammel & Cie winery from the Palatinate region vinifies a Sauvignon Blanc here as an extra Brut – a dosage that leaves the wine with hardly any residual sugar and clearly highlights the varietal spiciness of the grape variety.

In the glass, aromas of gooseberry, citrus grass, and a hint of sea breeze emerge – the acidity is crisp, the perlage fine. Extra Brut here means less than 6 g/l residual sugar: no flattery, just a clear, focused approach. Ideal as an aperitif or with seafood, oysters, and light fish dishes. It also pairs well with goat cheese or a summer tomato salad.
