Hammel & Cie Heart of Gold Pinot Blanc

Pinot Blanc from the Palatinate – and one that shows why this grape variety is currently receiving so much attention again: substantial, yet light-footed, with a fine fruitiness that is not intrusive.

Hammel & Cie is one of the oldest wineries in the Palatinate, rooted in Kirchheim an der Weinstraße for over 200 years. Their "Herz aus Gold" (Heart of Gold) line represents approachable, well-made everyday wines from Palatinate vineyards – easy to drink without being shallow.

In the glass, the Pinot Blanc displays a bright golden yellow. The nose offers aromas of fresh mirabelle plum, ripe apricot, and a hint of almond – soft yet clearly defined. On the palate, it presents a mild, juicy acidity, medium body, and a creamy texture. The finish is short to medium-long, with nutty and fruity notes.

Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Goes well with

  • Pasta with cream sauce or fried mushrooms
  • light-colored poultry, e.g. chicken with herbs
  • mild goat cheese or young Gouda
Also a good choice as a simple aperitif.

Weingut Hammel & Cie

Since 1723, the Hammel & Cie winery in Kirchheim an der Weinstraße has been one of the reliable addresses in the Palatinate – today, Christoph Hammel is already running the business in the ninth generation. You can feel almost three centuries of family tradition in every bottle: this is not about short-term trends, but about consistency that has grown over generations.

On 42 hectares around the historic village center of Kirchheim, Riesling, Burgundy varieties, Sauvignon Blanc, and now also Grüner Veltliner grow – and in one of the mildest climate regions in Germany. This special warmth, combined with the diverse soils of the Palatinate, gives the grapes a ripeness that you can taste in the end in the glass. In the vineyard, the family sticks to proven traditions; in the cellar, they consciously rely on the targeted use of steel and wood to give each grape variety exactly the framework it needs.

The result is wines with a clear signature and aromatic fruit that deliver exactly what the family itself formulates as its leitmotif: to bring joy. Whether for an uncomplicated evening or a special occasion – at Hammel & Cie you will find wines that combine tradition and Palatinate joie de vivre in a completely natural way.
