Hammel & Cie Spätburgunder From the Heart dry
Pinot Noir from the Palatinate, matured in wooden barrels — the “From the Heart” from Hammel & Cie shows what the grape variety can do in this region: red fruit, richness and structure all in one go.
Hammel & Cie winery is one of the established wineries in the Palatinate, one of Germany's warmest wine regions. This climate promotes full tannin ripening in their Pinot Noir, while aging in oak barrels gives the wine additional depth and a well-rounded structure.
In the glass, it shines a brick red. The nose offers sour cherry, wild raspberry, and a hint of cassis, along with a subtle oak note from barrel aging. On the palate, it is juicy and soft, with fine, well-integrated tannins and a fruity, warm finish without any harsh edges.
Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Pairs well with duck breast with red cabbage, leg of lamb, or a strong mountain cheese. Also a great choice as an uncomplicated accompaniment to a barbecue. Ready to drink now, but will keep for another 2–3 years without any problems.
