Sessantanni Primitivo di Manduria DOC

Wine has been cultivated in Puglia, around the small town of San Marzano , not far from Lake Pappadai, for almost 3000 years. Primitivo Sessantanni is an excellent example of this. Made entirely from 60-year-old vines of this local grape variety, the wine undergoes a three-week maceration period before being aged in small wooden barrels for 12 months before bottling.

Color: deep, dark ruby red, almost black with violet reflections. On the nose, the Sessantanni Primitivo di Manduria reveals a high degree of complexity, with multifaceted aromas of ripe black berries and cherries paired with spices and hints of licorice and vanilla. The taste is full-bodied with great juiciness and seemingly endless depth.

Simply a "high-quality wine". Awards: Berlin Wine Trophy: Gold for the 2015 vintage; James Suckling 2024: 91 points for the 2019 vintage; Luca Maroni 2024: " Best Absolute Italian Wine " - 99 points for the 2019 vintage; Sakura Japan Women's Wine Awards 2024: Gold Medal for the 2019 vintage

Feudi di San Marzano

What nineteen winegrowing families from San Marzano di San Giuseppe sealed with a handshake in 1962 is today one of the most renowned names in Apulia: Feudi di San Marzano. Around 1,500 winegrowers cultivate more than 1,200 hectares of vines together in the heart of the Primitivo di Manduria DOP, many of them still using the traditional Alberello system – the bush-trained vines that have defined the character of Salento for generations. The red limestone soil, the sun, and the sea breezes between the Adriatic and Ionian Seas shape wines that are powerful yet precise. Every grape is harvested by hand, and chemical fertilizers are strictly avoided.
