SUD Malvasia Nera

Malvasia Nera from Apulia – dark fruity, spicy, with a character that brings the warmth of the south sun directly into the glass.

Feudi di San Marzano is one of the most renowned wineries in Apulia. Located in the heart of the Primitivo zone around Manduria, the estate cultivates old vineyards on the red clay-sand soil of the Murge plateau and specializes in the region's indigenous grape varieties – including the rarer Malvasia Nera, which is bottled here as a single-varietal wine under the SUD line.

In the glass, the wine displays a clear ruby red color with violet reflections. The nose offers aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and a distinct hint of clove. Four months of aging in oak barrels impart a soft tannin structure and a touch of vanilla on the finish – without overpowering the fruity core. The body is full, and the finish is pleasantly long.

Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Pairs well with grilled lamb, pasta with ragù alla Barese or spicy pecorino. Also enjoyable on its own as an accompaniment to a summer evening – drink it now, without further aging.

Feudi di San Marzano

What nineteen winegrowing families from San Marzano di San Giuseppe sealed with a handshake in 1962 is today one of the most renowned names in Apulia: Feudi di San Marzano. Around 1,500 winegrowers cultivate more than 1,200 hectares of vines together in the heart of the Primitivo di Manduria DOP, many of them still using the traditional Alberello system – the bush-trained vines that have defined the character of Salento for generations. The red limestone soil, the sun, and the sea breezes between the Adriatic and Ionian Seas shape wines that are powerful yet precise. Every grape is harvested by hand, and chemical fertilizers are strictly avoided.
