Tramari Rosé Primitivo del Salento

A rosé wine from the deep south of Italy: The Tramari brings the aromas of the Apulian maquis to the glass – wild, spicy, with a clear red fruit line.

Feudi di San Marzano is one of Puglia's most renowned wineries. This cooperative in the province of Taranto pools vineyards in Salento, where the Primitivo grape develops its characteristic depth and warmth on the low-lime red soils. For their Tramari, the grape is vinified as a rosé – using a short skin contact process that imparts color and fruit without becoming heavy like a red wine.

In the glass, it shines a bright cherry red. The nose offers Mediterranean maquis herbs – rosemary, thyme, a hint of wild strawberry – followed by raspberry and sour cherry. On the palate, it is fresh and medium-bodied, with a lively acidity and a clean, slightly spicy finish.

Feudi di San Marzano

What nineteen winegrowing families from San Marzano di San Giuseppe sealed with a handshake in 1962 is today one of the most renowned names in Apulia: Feudi di San Marzano. Around 1,500 winegrowers cultivate more than 1,200 hectares of vines together in the heart of the Primitivo di Manduria DOP, many of them still using the traditional Alberello system – the bush-trained vines that have defined the character of Salento for generations. The red limestone soil, the sun, and the sea breezes between the Adriatic and Ionian Seas shape wines that are powerful yet precise. Every grape is harvested by hand, and chemical fertilizers are strictly avoided.
