Tramari Rosé Primitivo del Salento

Tramari Rosé Primitivo del Salento
A rosé wine from the deep south of Italy: the Tramari brings the aromas of the Apulian macchia into the glass – wild, spicy, with a clear red fruit line.
Feudi di San Marzano is one of the best-known wineries in Apulia. The cooperative in the province of Taranto bundles vineyards in the Salento, where the Primitivo develops its characteristic depth and warmth on the low-lime red soils. For the Tramari, the grape variety is vinified as a rosé – pressed with short skin contact, which gives color and fruit without tipping into the heaviness of a red wine.
In the glass, it glows in a bright cherry red. On the nose, Mediterranean macchia herbs – rosemary, thyme, a hint of wild strawberry – followed by raspberry and sour cherry. On the palate, fresh and medium-weight, with an invigorating acidity and a clean, slightly spicy finish.

What nineteen winegrowing families from San Marzano di San Giuseppe sealed with a handshake in 1962 is today one of the most renowned names in Apulia: Feudi di San Marzano. Around 1,500 winegrowers cultivate more than 1,200 hectares of vines together in the heart of the Primitivo di Manduria DOP, many of them still using the traditional Alberello system – the bush-trained vines that have defined the character of Salento for generations. The red limestone soil, the sun, and the sea breezes between the Adriatic and Ionian Seas shape wines that are powerful yet precise. Every grape is harvested by hand, and chemical fertilizers are strictly avoided.
