SUD Primitivo-Merlot

In the region around the town of San Marzano, located almost at the southern tip of Puglia. Vines have been cultivated in this area for over 3,000 years, a tradition that the San Marzano cooperative respectfully honors in all its wines. This modern cooperative winery produces renowned wines from local grape varieties. At almost 100 meters above sea level, with high average temperatures and very little rainfall throughout the year, the vines thrive year after year. The soil consists mainly of clay, which retains sufficient water during the dry summer months. The SUD Primitivo-Merlot is a deep carmine red with black highlights. Aroma: Ripe aromas of red fruits such as cherries and wild berries, with a subtle hint of cinnamon. Taste: A wine of great structure with velvety tannins and a long, pleasant finish. Aged for four months in oak barrels.
