Disibodenberg Wine House Melody Pinot Gris by Harold Faltermeyer Magnum
Six Pinot Gris components, aged in steel and oak barrels – that is the idea behind Melody : a white wine from the Disibodenberg winery that stands out due to its complexity.
The Disibodenberg winery is located in Rhineland-Palatinate, near the historic Disibodenberg Monastery on the Nahe River. The steep Kapellenberg vineyard, with its old vines, provides the base material for this cuvée – old vines produce fewer grapes, but they are more concentrated.
In the glass, it displays a vibrant golden yellow. The nose offers aromas of mirabelle plum, ripe pear, and white peach, complemented by a slightly creamy note from the oak barrel aging. The palate reveals a smooth, well-balanced acidity – the stainless steel aging contributes freshness, while the oak adds texture and length. The finish is lingeringly fruity with a hint of almond.
The magnum bottle slows down the development in the glass – ideal if the wine is to accompany the wine at the table for several hours.
