Wolfberger Pinot Gris Grand Cru Pfingstberg

This Pinot Gris comes from the Grand Cru Pfingstberg in Orschwihr – one of the most prestigious vineyards in Alsace – and is produced by the Wolfberger cooperative, which has united Alsatian winegrowers since 1902 and is now one of the leading wineries in the region.

In the glass, aromas of gingerbread, candied quince, and ripe mirabelle plums unfold, underscored by a delicate hint of cinnamon and a touch of ginger. On the palate, the typical Pfingstberg body is revealed: full-bodied, with a velvety texture that perfectly balances richness and freshness. The finish is long and silky – a testament to the potential of this vineyard site with its calcareous loess soil and volcanic subsoil. The Mundus Vini Gold Medal 2022 for the 2018 vintage confirms the quality of this cuvée.

Serving suggestion: Best served at 10–12 °C. Pairs well with foie gras, Munster with caraway, a hearty Alsatian tarte flambée, or braised pork belly with apples. Best enjoyed by 2027.

Wolfberger

Wolfberger is the leading wine brand of Alsace – founded in 1902 in Eguisheim, known under this name since 1976, and still a benchmark for Alsatian quality. Around 450 contracted winegrowers cultivate 1,200 hectares of vineyards stretching almost 100 kilometers from north to south, encompassing 15 Grand Cru vineyards and approximately 13,000 parcels. As the largest Crémant producer in Alsace, Wolfberger produces roughly half of the region's sparkling wines – using the traditional method of extended lees contact. Organic certification for more than 15 years and several ISO awards attest to its serious commitment to quality and sustainability.
