Eichkogel QW Burgenland 0.75L
The Eichkogel is the calling card of the Kollwentz winery for Blaufränkisch from Burgenland — powerful, dark, and with the typical spice that distinguishes this grape variety on the volcanic soils around Großhöflein.
The Kollwentz-Römerhof winery is one of the defining addresses in Burgenland. For decades, the family has been working consistently to show the potential of the region — with Blaufränkisch as the heart of the range. The Eichkogel bears the name of one of the estate's best sites and bundles what Burgenland has to offer in terms of red wine.
In the glass, it glows in deep purple-ruby. On the nose, it shows ripe blackberry, black cherry, and a distinct hint of pepper — the typical spice profile of Blaufränkisch. On the palate, powerful but balanced tannins, lively acidity, and a long, mineral-spicy finish.
Best served at 16–18 °C. Pairs well with braised beef, game ragout, or strong hard cheese like aged mountain cheese.
