Schlumberger Rosé Brut Méthode Traditionnelle 1.5L

A rosé Sekt from Austria, dry in style and with clear red fruit: The Schlumberger Rosé Brut is a sparkling wine for the aperitif as well as for the dining table. This magnum (1.5 l) also cuts a fine figure at a large table.

Schlumberger stands for Austrian Sekt made according to the Méthode Traditionnelle, i.e., with bottle fermentation. The grape variety is Blaufränkisch, which gives the rosé its color and its berry fruit. It glows coral pink in the glass. On the nose, redcurrant and wild berries meet floral hints of peony and a subtle roasted note.

On the palate, it is dry (Brut), open, and elegant: fine perlage, red fruit, clear structure, and a clean finish. Serve it well chilled and feel free to pour it into a wine glass so that the aromas can unfold. It works just as well as an aperitif as it does with grilled salmon or Japanese-Asian cuisine. It provides an exciting contrast to a chocolate fondue.

The Winery

Schlumberger

Schlumberger is Austria's oldest sparkling wine cellar – founded in 1842 by Robert Schlumberger, an Alsatian cellar master who learned his craft at Ruinart in Reims and brought the Méthode Traditionnelle to Austria for the first time.

As a purveyor to the imperial and royal court and a pioneer of Austrian sparkling wine culture, the Viennese house has set standards that still apply today: base wines exclusively from Austrian contract winemakers, at least twelve months of yeast aging, artisanal riddling.

The underground cellars in the 19th district – the oldest of their kind in Austria – tell of this long history. At the Vienna Opera Ball, Schlumberger has been the secret star in the glass for decades.
