Schlumberger Rosé Brut GP Méthode Traditionnelle 0.75L

An Austrian sparkling wine made using the traditional method from the country's oldest sparkling wine cellar. The base is Blaufränkisch – a grape variety that gives the rosé structure and fruit depth that many international counterparts lack.

In the glass, it shines a radiant coral pink with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose reveals blackcurrant, wild strawberry, and peony, underpinned by subtle toasty aromas – a sign of aging on the lees using traditional methods. On the palate, it is open and fresh, with red fruit and a clean, crisp acidity that enlivens the finish. Serving temperature: 7–9 °C.

Convincing as an aperitif, but also a good choice with salmon tartare, strawberry salad with balsamic vinegar or light pasta dishes with tomatoes.

Schlumberger

Schlumberger is Austria's oldest sparkling wine producer – founded in 1842 by Robert Schlumberger, an Alsatian cellar master who learned his craft at Ruinart in Reims and was the first to bring the traditional method to Austria. As purveyors to the Imperial and Royal Court and pioneers of Austrian sparkling wine culture, the Viennese company set standards that remain valid today: base wines exclusively from Austrian contract growers, at least twelve months of lees aging, and traditional riddling. The underground cellars in the 19th district – the oldest of their kind in Austria – tell the story of this long history. For decades, Schlumberger has been the unsung hero of the Vienna Opera Ball.
