Champagne Veuve Clicquot Brut

In 1772, Philippe Clicquot founded a wine business under the Clicquot brand. In 1805, François Clicquot, the founder's son, died. His 27-year-old widow, Barbe-Nicole Clicquot-Ponsardin, then took over her late husband's business. While Europe was struggling to recover from the Napoleonic Wars, she succeeded in exporting her champagne worldwide thanks to the energetic support of her employees, most of whom came from Germany. She presented her products at all the royal courts of Europe, thus contributing to the image of French savoir-vivre. Within a short time, her wine was no longer just a successful product, but a veritable legend. Barbe-Nicole Clicquot was a passionate businesswoman. She corresponded with her traveling salesmen, especially with Ludwig "Louis" Bohne, her late husband's closest confidant. She herself inspected her wine cellars at night to oversee the development of the cuvée. Her cellar master, Anton von Müller (French: Antoine de Muller), a native of Swabia, invented the riddling method around 1813. The most famous Champagne from the cellars of Veuve Clicquot. A balanced cuvée, rounded off with a delicate and lively character. Sophisticated yet fresh thanks to the high Pinot Noir content. It impresses with its finesse and a balanced, refined bouquet. An excitingly sensual experience that will win you over. Wine Spectator December 2012 92 points "Powerful texture, characterized by strong acidity and a mineral note. Subtle hints of white peach, anise, biscuit, and kumquat. The elegant finish ends with a smoky note. Can be drunk now and until 2022."

Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin

Veuve Clicquot – behind this name lies one of the most fascinating stories in Champagne. In 1805, at just 27 years old, the widow Clicquot took over her late husband's house and revolutionized Champagne production: The riddling rack, which she helped develop, remains the standard to this day.
The distinctive yellow label is much more than just a logo – it stands for reliability, maturity, and a full-bodied style that combines depth with elegance. At its heart is the non-vintage Yellow Label , characterized by Pinot Noir and decades of cellar experience.
