Blaufränkisch Hochberc QW Mittelburgenland 0.75L
The Blaufränkisch Hochberc from the Gesellmann winery shows what the Central Burgenland can do: a grape variety that combines depth and structure in a glass without creating heaviness.
Gesellmann is one of the defining names in the Central Burgenland — a region that masters Blaufränkisch like no other. The Hochberc is a site-specific wine from the heart of the estate, bio-certified according to AT-BIO-402, and stands for the craftsmanship that the family has put into this grape variety for generations.
In the glass, deep dark ruby garnet with violet reflections. On the nose, blackberry, licorice, and a hint of vanilla, plus a spicy, peppery line typical of Blaufränkisch from this site. On the palate, it is present, with well-integrated tannins and an acidity that gives freshness without being sharp. The finish is long, slightly mineral.
Pairs well with braised beef, game goulash, or hearty hard cheese. Drinking temperature: 16–18 °C.
