A'KIRA is a joint project of three renowned wineries: Szemes from the Balaton region, FX Pichler from the Wachau, and Tement from the South Styrian wine region. The fact that three such different styles are collaborating on a Blaufränkisch makes this wine a rare experiment in cooperation.
Blaufränkisch is one of Central Europe's most distinctive red wine grape varieties—renowned for its vibrant acidity, dark fruit, and a natural spiciness that few other varieties deliver with such precision. In the glass, the A'KIRA reveals aromas of sour cherry, blackberry, and cassis, underpinned by a hint of fine wood spice from barrel aging. The body is full-bodied, the tannins ripe and integrated, and the finish characterized by a subtle peppery spice—a typical feature of well-crafted Blaufränkisch blends.
It's best served at 16–18 °C. It pairs well with braised beef, venison stew, or a mature hard cheese like mountain cheese or Manchego. A relaxed barbecue with dark meat is also an ideal setting for this wine.
