a´Kira Blaufränkisch

A Blaufränkisch that shows what happens when three of Austria's most renowned wineries join forces: a´Kira is a joint venture of Szemes, FX Pichler, and Tement – three names that stand for precision and craftsmanship in the Austrian wine scene.

Behind the project is the idea of consistently pushing the potential of the Blaufränkisch. The grape variety is considered the leading red variety of Burgenland and Styria: strong in structure, acidic, with natural spice. In this cuvée philosophy, Burgenland vineyard depth and Styrian finesse meet.

In the glass, the wine shows dense berry jam, ripe heart cherry, and cassis – dark-fruited, but never heavy. Nougat and a fine noble wood spice lie underneath as a second layer. The body is powerful, the tannins present and ripe, the finish long and spicy with lasting depth.
