Carnuntum – red wine region between the Danube and history

Carnuntum is located east of Vienna, where the Danube touches the Pannonian Basin. The continental climate with hot summers and cool nights gives the wines here their unmistakable character: ripe fruit, but with enough freshness and structure to remain truly interesting. The region is small, fine, and long since no longer an insider tip among wine lovers – even if it is not yet as loud internationally as the Wachau.

Red wine in focus – with one exception

Carnuntum is primarily red wine territory. Zweigelt is the defining variety of the region and often appears particularly juicy and characterful here. In addition, exciting cuvées are created that make good use of the area's potential. The fact that a Grüner Veltliner from Carnuntum can also be convincing proves that the region has more to offer than just red wine.

Four wines, one winery – but a very good one.
