Markowitsch Carnuntum Cuvée

Markowitsch Carnuntum Cuvée
Dark ruby red in the glass, intense on the nose: This cuvée from Carnuntum shows what the Pannonian climate between Vienna and Slovakia can bring out in red grape varieties.
The Markowitsch winery is one of the most prominent names in Carnuntum – a small DAC region east of Vienna, known primarily for its Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch wines. Gernot Markowitsch played a key role in developing the Carnuntum designation of origin and focuses on clearly defined red wines with a regional character.
On the nose, the cuvée opens with aromas of Morello cherry, blackberry, and wild berries, underpinned by spice notes and a hint of dark chocolate. On the palate, it offers juicy fruitiness, ripe tannins without harshness, and good length. The wine is lean and elegant – not a heavy, oaky monster, but a substantial, everyday red wine.
- Temperature: 16–18 °C

Markowitsch Winery – that's Göttlesbrunn, Carnuntum, and the quiet conviction that great wines are not made, but discovered.
Gerhard Markowitsch drives through his vineyards every day, guided by the rhythm of nature. Organic viticulture, precise vineyard management, and an instinct for the unique characteristics of each individual vineyard – from the Rosenberg vineyard to the Kirchweingarten – are his hallmarks. The result: wines with genuine personality that reflect their origin.
