Wines from Traisen – Riesling and more from the Rotenfels
Traisen is a small wine-growing town on the Nahe, which owes its reputation primarily to one vineyard: the Traisener Rotenfels. The rock of the same name is one of the most striking geological formations in Central Europe, and its steep slopes provide the Riesling with ideal conditions – plenty of warmth, mineral soils, and a freshness that gives the wines tension and character. If you like Nahe Riesling, you can hardly avoid Traisen.
What awaits you here
The focus is on Riesling: dry-aged, it appears lean, lively, and with a fine mineral note that is typical of the Nahe. In addition, you will find the Frühburgunder, an old German red wine variety that turns out lighter and more elegant than a classic Pinot Noir. And for those looking for something special: a Riesling Eiswein from the Nonnengarten rounds off the picture with sweet concentration and lively acidity.
Your entry at Vinoscout
All five wines in the assortment come from the Beisiegel winery – a producer who knows the Traisen sites inside out. Prices start at just under 5 EUR for the rosé and go up to 34.95 EUR for the Eiswein. This means you will find both uncomplicated everyday wines and a small treasure for special occasions here. Take a look and discover what this compact Nahe community has to offer.
