Beisiegel Traisener Nonnengarten Riesling Ice Wine

Beisiegel Traisener Nonnengarten Riesling Ice Wine
An ice wine that literally arose from an exceptional situation: On December 12, 2019, the grapes were harvested at −11 °C — this is how the most concentrated, rarest sweet wines in Germany are created.
The Beisiegel winery cultivates the Traisener Nonnengarten vineyard on the Nahe River, a region known for its steep Riesling slopes on porphyry rock. This mineral subsoil gives even the sweetest wines a precise structure, preventing them from becoming heavy.
In the glass, the extreme concentration of the grapes is evident: aromas of passion fruit, candied mango, and dried apricot, underpinned by a distinct citrus note that balances the sweetness. The finish is long, mineral, and characterized by vibrant acidity—no sugar without tension.
- Temperature: 8–10 °C
- Drinking window: now until 2035+
- Pairs well with: foie gras pâté, Roquefort cheese, Tarte Tatin, or simply as a dessert in a glass.
