Beisiegel Spätburgunder Onkel

Beisiegel Spätburgunder Onkel
Spätburgunder from Norheim on the Nahe – this is Pinot Noir on porphyry and sandstone, with the cool elegance that makes the Nahe Valley so special. The "Onkel" from the Beisiegel winery shows what this region can extract from the Burgundian grape variety: fruit with depth, accessibility with character.
The Nahe is considered one of Germany's most versatile wine regions – geologically characterized by volcanic rock, which gives the wines a fine minerality and lively acidity. Weingut Beisiegel from Norheim works with these natural conditions and, with the "Onkel," brings a Spätburgunder that takes no major detours: direct, honest, and easy-drinking.
On the nose, ripe cherry and strawberry, behind which lie blackberry and a hint of toasted almond. Dark chocolate, a trace of coffee, and subtle pepper spice give the bouquet a pleasant complexity. On the palate, the wine is soft and fruit-driven – the tannins are mild and well-integrated, the acidity fresh enough to provide structure without being sharp. The finish is long and aromatic, with a slightly spicy aftertaste.
Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Pairs with pasta with tomato ragù, grilled duck breast, light roast pork, or a mature Gouda. If you like, you can also drink it on its own – as an uncomplicated evening wine that doesn't need a special occasion.

The Beisiegel winery in Traisen on the Nahe River is a true family business with deep roots: The family has been based in Traisen since 1579, and they have been bottling their own wines since 1959. Today, Walter and Alexander Beisiegel, the fourth generation, manage 13 hectares of vineyards in the Traisen and Norheim sites – characterized by porphyry and melaporphyry soils that impart a distinctive minerality and almost salty spiciness to the Rieslings. Without compromise in vineyard management and without aggressive chemicals, they produce wines that make their terroir immediately apparent in the glass.
